Bug or am I stupid?

so I'm trying to complete an imperial ascension mission to deliver some marine goods.

I acquired them, (18 of them) flew them back to the proper station, the mission is on the bulletin board, its giving me a red 18 as if I do not have enough of them, but there are definitely 18 in my hold, am I missing something here? I can't turn the mission in and my cargo hold smells like rubber from all the wet suits, please advise.

I think all the naval ascension missions are bugged. I have done TWO ascension missions and Im still at the bottom rank (outsider?).

This is a pretty bad bug.... very annoying.

well no, Im not concerned with the rank up, I cant even turn it in, its saying I dont have enough of them when I do. I cant get these thigns out of my cargo hold.

Sometimes the missions require the items to be 'stolen' and/or 'illegal'. I'm certain the initial mission text would have noted that, but I can't be sure that the mission text in your ship will say so.

It was a trade mission (with the two arrows) and not a pirate mission (with the skull) so I assumed I could just buy them

If a bug is affecting game play then raise a ticket and they can hopefully clear it up for you while fixing the bug that caused it long term.

Yeah, that looks like a bug.

If you want to just ditch your cargo, you can do it while docked by selecting your cargo and then picking 'DISCARD'. It should just disappear from your cargo bay. I believe this is just throwing stuff into a skip at the starport. Once you take off, that option changes to 'JETTISON'. Don't do that inside the station. Wait till you're out of the No Fire Zone, if you're going to do it.

That would suck somewhat though, having gone to the trouble of getting it there. I just figured you might want to know how to get rid of it if you want to.

I had this earlier had to ship 8 of something to a station so took some extra along to pay for the fuel etc

Got to the station and it was red and couldnt turn it in

So sold the excess that I had, and lo and behold i could then turn in the mission

Had the same Bug in Fed. I think they should be stolen, and forgot that, in the text
