[BUG-PROBLEM] SRV Destroyed

Has anyone encountered my same problem?
This evening I was gathering materials with the SRV when I had to leave for dinner. When I returned, I found myself on board the ship. The srv was gone. Checking the log, I discovered that the SRV had been destroyed (yet I remember leaving it stationary next to the ship). I'm very far from the bubble (about 40,000 ly) so it's impossible that it was another player or an NPC ...

So you ran out of fuel - yes fuel is used all the time - there is no pause - so always exit to main menu or desktop if not in a hangar.

The SRV holds 0.45T of fuel. It uses 0.8T per hour, so will last about 30 minutes. According to the log, you left it for about an hour.

Actually it seems to be about 1hr50min when I investigated this so not 0.8/h more like 0.29/h.

Yes, my mistake. All I did was pull up a Youtube vid of someone in an SRV, which started with the guy flying a Viper, so I clicked forward and it was on the ground at 0.8/H, which I had assumed was the SRV cockpit. If I had clicked further, it showed the SRV at 0.24/h and 0.23/h. Internet research sucks when you do it wrongly! I suppose we have to add how long the oxygen lasts too, which is 5 minutes(?).

When I do base scanning to farm data, I would have said that my fuel lasts about an hour because I would have thought that I would have become very bored if I did it for any longer, but with 0.45T at 0.23/H, it should last for two hours. Is time flying because I enjoy running around a base so much?

Well my mental arithmetic failed anyway - how I got 0.29 I'll never know - I think the display of 0.24/h - 0.27/h is accurate - the highest I could get that displayed figure to was 0.31/h when boosting off the surface.

I did some testing because of another thread to establish that you could actually still drive around after the fuel ran out - so it took 1hr 48min to run out of fuel and I was still driving around for the 5 minutes emergency oxygen - don't know if that driving with no fuel ability is a bug or by design.
