Bugs and glitches in Update 4

Hi @Jens Erik ,
I've noticed some new and still persisting bugs in Update 4.

  • there is still no VO introduction line for Pteranodon. Styxosaurus and Alamosaurus are also missing them
  • Quetzalcoatlus can't be transported by aviary drones, instead it will simply disappear after some time. Is this actually inentional? Looks bad, it can be transported by the helicopter, so the drone should also be able to do it
  • Quetzalcoatlus will get killed without any animation and actual interaction by carnivores when it's tranquilized and is lying near them. This has been fixed for the other pterosaurs in the past iirc, so the same solution should be possible for Quetz I guess
  • the deco version of the watchtower (introduced with the Biosyn DLC) will still simply disappear in certain angles, specifically when you look up, in 1st person mode
  • Nasutoceratops and Sinoceratops get distorted and glitched (especially their legs and bellies) in the species viewer when you activate the last four animations/poses (similar to Wuerhosaurus and Kentrosaurus in the past, which have been fixed with this update)
  • underwater lights can't be seen from the lagoon viewing gallery
  • Cryolophosaurus has pink eyes. Is that actually intentional? Please consider giving it normally coloured eyes
  • the guest killing animation of the JP3 Pteranodon is bugged, as well as its jaws when it leaves the hatchery. See here
  • the innovation center has no lighting. It's completely dark at night. Here is a relevant reddit thread

I hope they will get fixed, preferably with a hot-fix in the near future maybe.

There's still the issue where the specialist facility bonus skill points aren't applied to newly hired staff as well. It's already on the issue tracker but still confirming, so can't hurt to add it here, too.

It's really annoying and also money draining, especially in challenge, when you have to delete and reapply the upgrade everytime you hire new specialist staff to make the bonus apply to them.

My transport helicopter is stuck and now i cant use the hatchery cuz of it
I had this glitch as well. I think I found a workaround but I am not sure how reliable it is.

When I had this glitch, it was when the helicopters wanted to transport pteranodon into the aviary after a storm, but I also assigned the dead cearadactylus to be removed from the aviary. So the pteranodon transport copters were stuck waiting. Even the cearadactylus corpses despawned before being taken out, so they are waiting for nothing.

When reloading the save, they were still stuck, what I think got them unstuck was going to the aviary hatchery and deactivating it, saving it, and relooading the save, then the transportation continued. Could you try this and see if it yeilds any results?

Do you still have this bug? I reported it in the issue tracker below.

The weird thing for me is that it did happen, but after reporting it I barely encountered this bug again. So I am unsure if it is a one-time thing or a reoccurring problem.
The current glitch I am facing is an audio one where the general audio goes missing or is super quiet during the overview parks of gameplay. It only plays at the normal audio frequency like when I build items, click on a dinosaur, or pause the game.

Yeah, still happens all the time and that's the one I added a contribution to, so I hope they look into it.

Pretty sure I also had that audio bug happen while playing yesterday, but it was just once so far and after playing for a long time, so not sure if it was a general bug or a memory leak thing. I'll add a contribution if it happens again and after a short time of playing.

I hope it has resolved itself in some way. I had it when building a new park, but it only happened in that one park. I am unsure if it is a frequent thing or a one-time glitch as I didn’t get to play the game again. I am on PS5, so I might do a cache reset soon to see if that resolves the issue permanently.

I never did like that as well. I think that it is because the small hatch where they transport pterosaurs out of the aviary is too small.

I wonder if they could instead utilize the Main hatch where the quetzal got in to take her out, as that is the only door big enough to handle that large animal in the aviary. Plus I think it would be funny if they deployed 3 or more drones to lift the animal since she is so large.

Another thing to add to the list is this gem...

The transport helis crash and just lie there forever when you save/reload a park where a dead dino is being taken off the island and there's no way of getting rid of it after.

It's also in the voting stage on the issue tracker page, so not that uncommon.

This bug was already fixed... an now it's back again.
Whats wrong with the game code?! Engine overwhelmed?

Hey folks!

Please submit your bug reports in our Issue Tracker, and don't forget to upvote and comment on existing issues so they're visible for our team: https://issues.frontierstore.net/
Hi Jens, I've submitted them all. One thing is confusing me though. This issue has been marked as "by design". That's hard to imagine to me, since that one's a quite weird issue. Is it really intended that the Quetzalcoatlus will simply vanish in an instant without any animation after some time it has died in an aviary, and not carried off by the drones like all other pterosaurs?
Can you ask the team and make sure? That would be nice

If this has been marked as "By Design", then it's by design. It's likely due to the Quetz' massive size.

Is it normal that some issues are not acknowledged even with evidence after such a long time? I've submitted them on 28 September...
Here are some I've reported, which are still in the "confirming" phase:
By the way, Pteranodon still lacks a voiceover introduction line, which has still not been fixed since launch. I've also submitted an issue for that one. I really hope it will get fixed in the next update finally.

Also it's really disappointing that the issue concerning the Innovation Center being completely dark and without lighting at night has been ticked off as "by design".
I can't imagine this to be true, since it was with lighting even in the first game. So how can this be intentional in JWE2, which is supposed to be the superior successor?

Please consider changing this. It really is weird and wrong to be without any lights at all in darkness.

In addition to what Jens mentioned, 3 people need to add to the issue, and most importantly click on "can reproduce". Then it goes to the voting stage.
The FAQ says:
What does it mean when an issue is “Confirming”?
When an issue is first submitted, it is placed in the “Confirming” category. Players need to confirm they can also reproduce the issue being reported. This is done by leaving a comment explaining the steps they used to reproduce the issue and ticking the “Can Reproduce” tick box. If the “Can Reproduce” box is not ticked, the comment will not be counted as reproduction.
60 days is how long it will stay on before expiring.
It's good that you came on here and posted the links so if there are others who have the same problem they can quickly get on and add to yours.

since the last 2 updates on steam/pc i got alot of crash to desktop. it started with the new "san diego" challange which i am still not able to play because of the crash to desktop.

now it started also in normal old saves. never had troubles with those saves but it crashes now on them too :(. always crash to desktop with no message. i send the report every time.
