Bugs - Is FDev even aware?

If you play in a squadron on Playstation 4, chances are, you've had countless blue screens:
  • In Wing Conflict Zones, especially when players jump in or out of supercruise
  • Fighting Thargoids
  • In CQC before the award screen

Why doesn't FDev try to collect the reports from Playstation? If these bugs are known, which you'd have to be willfully ignorant not to know... why has it been months and months and months without a patch?

We've posted in the bug thread report, we've posted to the PS4 report screen, we've posted here, people post in Reddit... it'd go a long way towards not losing players before the 2020 update if we knew at least that there were people working on these bugs. Thanks.

There's three bugs marked as acknowledged to do with PS4-specific crashes:
- Thargoids: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/1853
- CQC: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/883
- Material Traders: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/141

The CZ one is reported but not yet confirmed - https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/3102 - but if it's part of the same issue then hopefully will get fixed with the others.

There's a patch coming out in September which will hopefully fix some of these bugs, though we won't know until nearer the time which bug fixes are going to be in it.

This is how Frontier's release process works - one big patch every few months, with maybe a couple of minor patches in the few weeks after the big one to do a little clean up, then basically nothing (apart from a few bugs which can be fixed without a patch) until the next big one.

If they could release the bug fix patches more often, even with no new features at all, this would probably be popular ... on the other hand, if their current testing schedule means bugs like this sneak through (especially on the consoles, it seems) then more frequent releases might just mean more bugs like this.

Historically FDEV did do a lot of small patches, player base complained about the amount of time it took to update the game after every patch and demanded fewer but larger patches, FDEV complied, player base complains bugs aren't fixed quickly. sounds like a lose/lose situation to me.

Thanks, we've got a few hundred in our PS4 squadron, and run into these issues all the time.
