Building a human base on the moon has been one of the many sci fi aficionados dreams.

But besides of the spectacular achievement and the undeniable scientific value of such a task, the economical benefits for anyone who first achieves moon colonization first would be TREMENDOUS!

And guess who seems to have their eyes clearly fixed on our nearest neighbourg, while all the other big space nations seem to have their eyes clearly fixated on mars ?

USA may have been the first to send a man to the moon, but the united countries of Europe might be the ones who will first make a permanent colony there ! ( he he )

I'm all for expanding our presence in the solar system. I'd love to get to Mars first, but I'll take a moon base.
