Building Selection Tool needs consistency

At present, the selection tool when creating buildings has no logic to it. While I still can't get my head around the issue, it seems like you can't mix scenery pieces with grid pieces and group them together. You can only group certain sets of pieces. The whole grouping and ungrouping of pieces just doesn't seem very intuitive. You can create a Blueprint of grouped and ungrouped parts. Please can you change things so I can create a building, select all the parts, save them as a group and as a blueprint. .... Oh and while we are on the subject of suggestions... Rocks and copper pipes... If there could be some really massive rocks, it would make creating mountains much simpler and give many more landscaping options... And proper copper pipes would bring the Steampunk aesthetic alive. Finally... thank you for such a great game!!!

Uhm, if you select the scenery parts with the building, there should be an option attach scenery to building or so (can't look in the game right now)

large rocks shouldn't be a problem too, there are boulders in game that are pretty big and you always can scale them up.

Quite honestly, I have been building today and it really is unintuative. Having to press + 'Add to building' then finding individual parts is time consuming. Also there isn't always the option to 'add to building'. There does not seem to be any consistency in what you can group and what you can't. I can select a group of items and sometimes I can create a Group and sometimes I can't depending on the parts chosen. If I need to separate one wall section from another it becomes a new building.... In conclusion, I can select any combination of scenery parts to create a blueprint, but that same group of parts cannot always become a group.

It sounds to me like grid pieces are your problem. So if you have just one single grid piece in your building, be that a wall or a roof or whatever, that is now your grid. Non grid items will fit around it of course. Then you make a second building again with a single grid piece and a few non grid pieces. If you want to merge the two buildings together, the grid on the second building can only go in alignment with the grid on your first building.

I've stopped using grid pieces now. On all builds. Now that non grid pieces are scalable it is great for full scale constructions and the grid is never an issue when merging builds together.

Hmmm, I think I have been spoiled playing Namco's Park Beyond, as that game didn't differentiate between grid pieces and scenery pieces, you could just group pieces together when needed and save them. I get that grid pieces cannot be resized, but as long as you can 'Ungroup' a group that has both grid pieces and scenic pieces, there shouldn't be an issue. To me, this just adds a layer of inconvenience that is unnecessary and makes things more difficult. As the whole point of this game is to create your own structures, simplification of the process should be a priority when designing a UI. Just my opinion. As always, the game is still absolutely amazing... I'm only making this suggestion as I feel it would make building a park easier as mistakes can be more easily rectified if you want to move structures about.
