Building shops/facilities on raised paths

First off, I apologise if this isn't the right place to ask basic questions, I couldn't find an obvious sub forum to ask 'how to' things.

Can anyone tell me, or give me a link, on how to build on top of raised walkways? In the scenarios there are all these gorgeous walkways and paths with shops, facilities, exhibits, plants/trees etc, and the only way I can find to do the same is to pull these objects up, from the ground, through the floor of the walkway using the detailed move tools.

It's fine if that's what I'm supposed to do, but I wondered if there was a sleeker method, like a snapping tool or similar?

Many thanks in advance! :)

hold down shift and move the shop until you hit the same height
But I can't put shops on top of walkways, I can only pull the shells through. I can now 'sort of' attach a shop to the edge but it looks very messy.

I think I don't understand the build tools yet. I didn't play Planet Coaster you see. Maybe I need to watch some of those tutorials, but I wasn't sure if the building system was different with Planet Zoo.

If you only move the outside shell for the shop, you need to highlight and select the shell+shop and lock it together as a single blueprint, then it will drag around together. Otherwise, get the naked shop where you want it next to the path, then drag the shell to fit around it where it looks OK.

As Luuknoord said adding structure before pathways is always easier but is a little more tricky for elevated stuff.

YouTube will give you a lot of inspiration; even if you watch some Planet Coaster videos as long as you respect that what is being built is totally different -- the controls and concepts are the same.

@Luuknoord - just wanted to say thanks again for the tip. Got my head round how things work really quickly and I'm building away now. I just needed a hint in the right direction and from the right perspective. Thank you so much! ^^
