Bulk Smuggling - Torval / Delaine

Hi Commanders,

I used to be a very happy imperial slave smuggler between Torval & Delaine space. 1.5 / horizons seemed to have changed the mechanics in some way such that some of my return profits had taken a hit but it was still ok.

After taking a break over Christmas and dabbling with the long range smuggling I decided to go back to my old routes but I noticed that my favourite Delaine controlled stations are now anarchies or other governments where imperial slaves are legal and so I can't take advantage of the black market.

I spent ages trying to find a return trip worth 4.5/5k per tonne with 2 or 3 jumps but to no avail.

Are these routes still out there? should I keep looking? or should I settle?

Also are there any other good power combinations for other commodities?

BGS has gone a little insane. I don't doubt the carrying capacity of Cutter is causing some inflation in markets, but it could also simply be adding so many new bases and markets has caused some systems to change from one state to another. I am seeing pricing change in as little as an hour or two, though. And it wouldn't surprise me if Frontier aren't quietly fiddling with systems, or at least certainly did as part of 1.5/ 2.0.

The Torval-Delaine slave running was profitable due to Delaine's black market bonus. This bonus was nerfed first, and now it appears that it is bugged.

I have run into the same issue. I flew from Torval space to a Delaine black market, and didn't quite make it through the slot before getting scanned and fined 825,000cr. No worries, not paying that one. Flew straight back to Torval space for another load and upon returning I discovered Imp Slaves were no longer illegal. The BGS ticked over during the trip.

Really bummed out actually, I was showing two friends my route after they parked their combat ships. I was boasting about the credits I could help them make. Took the wind right out of the sails...

I noticed the same. Didn't spend as much thought on it as you did, but it's a shame. I really liked the tense moments when I was docking and a scan was taken right then

It's also a shame because it makes it harder to resist the Robigo Run.

I also had hoped to garner some interest in recruiting for Torval, but this puts another nail in the coffin. Keeping Torval pertinent made for great profits, but if Archon systems start legalizing Imp Slaves (or in this case, Anarchy making black markets and Archon bonuses pointless) than there is less reasons for joining up. I know that you don't have to pledge to make those profits but I'm talking about the ability to make those profits in the first place. No Torval, no discount, less profits. I rather liked my 25% mark up, plus 5% Trade Bonds and 5-15% Wing Profit Sharing. I needed to be able to claim these types of figures to help boost Torval numbers!

I wonder if we can focus on the BGS and convert systems away from Anarchy? I'm still learning the hot mess that is the BGS.

I tried some of the long distance missions from Robigo & Sothis, they were fun but you need more than 2 hours solid for those missions. The profits are similar to what can be achieved with a good imperial slave route in a cutter and you can dip in and out of that. A couple of the routes around the border are still viable, just not as good as before.

Very much worth a try,

^^ That's my challenge, I can do the imp slave route in a cutter and stop when I need to which is dull but convenient. If you mission stack at Robigo, I've yet to work out when to stop stacking, and almost certainly fail some because of server downtime, real life issues, or just underestimating the time required to fight multiple interdictions every 4 seconds...
Not a complaint, both profiles suit both approaches, but you do need to set aside more time than you think to smuggle.

The route I used to use still gets 3500 cr/tonne profit, I checked yesterday. There is nothing to bring back though. I calculated I made more money bring nothing back and thus getting another run in more quickly.

The black market bonus is gone from our control systems, and everything is legal there, which i believe is how it should be.

Exploited systems still have the bonus though, thats where you need to go.
