Bullettin boards?

Ok, I was finally able to purchase the game thru a different store.
I'm now at Trevithick station (don't know if it's a random location) and I've no idea of what to do.

i tried the bulletin boards (solo and open play) but they seem spoiled (strange strings and error message if I try to accept missions). Also I can't finda any market menu (you know, buy, sell) so I need any idea or tip about how to start my career. :)

Trevithick is a dock... No commodities there. Launch out into space, select the system map and select one of the stations on the map... Supercruise over to it and you should find a "commodities" menu.

I was having the same issue last night; even when I flew to another station and docked there.
