I heard about this today in another thread. It goes on your desk chair and lets you feel the low end vibrations without a sub-woofer.

Some decent reviews, but does anyone use it with their E: D program?

I hear it's amazing woth ED thanks to its great quality sound design. I've been wanting to get one to complete my VR setup, but I'm afraid it might make too much noise due to vibrations in my old appartment.

Expensive at $149, try a desktop speaker suppository, just $15. Combined with the $10 mobile phone head tracker I have read about here, its VR for the working class

This would be used with a headset so desktop speakers are no good. As for the suppository part ummm...

I suppose the actual sound would be in muffled mono.

Its very expensive for what it does in the UK, I think its a lot cheaper in the US. It does work well though, I like going through the letter box and when the friendship drive charges

It is expensive at $149 plus what I'll pay in duty and shipping as I'm not in the US or UK, but not outlandish by any means. Seen nothing to talk me out of it yet. Of course, I have not mentioned it to the wife yet.

I think its about £150 in the UK. Make sure that you buy one that suits your voltage.

i have this installed at home and use it only with my desktop speakers. The sound of the speakers does not drive the effect as the buttkicker has it's own amp. This with D2K has been the best.

Nope you can use desktop speakers and it works great.

wouldnt fly without one, one of the best additions to my setup. You feel the ship and environment.

Bought mine primarily for simulators, but movies and music is an amazing feeling. Can't understand how anyone could consider it expensive, compared to a high end stereo system the price is peanuts.

For the kind of immersion you get, £150 quid is an absoulute bargain.

It's a must for DK2 users

He has been like this since i joined in Beta! Think he is saving up for his own holodeck next. Has one on preorder, just can't find the thread where he mentioned it....

I kind of like/believe him though. He did give us the docking pad dartboard map thing ( which needs updating since they moved 13) that's more than I ever did for the community

I've been chasing immersion for as long as I can remember, have worked for various companies on high tech professional simulators (CAE & Fixed base), mainly the A320-214. Once you get surrounded by that kind of tech you want to replicate it at home. Think VR is the holy grail for me, combined with a BK gamer, and high end flight controls. I guess a motion platform would be the next crazy step... Not in a hurry to buy one of those

Edit - lol Huros, why would I make stuff up? Am 37 years old, big enough to pay for my own toys now..

Where I am from 7 is a lucky number.

If we want it in 20 years we all have VR with motion platforms. Dream away it is coming.

Hey 777, you talk with authority that can only come from experience. But from the sound of things, maybe not a holodeck, but a flight simulator going (used, one careful owner) from CAE in mid sussex?

I've got one and it's good but IMO not amazeballs.
It does add something to pretty much all games but I only really turn it on from time to time.
The main issue you might find is if you run a USB headset and the BKG2.
You need the sound coming out of your soundcard not a usb headset for the BKG2 to work.
It is possible to get sound from both your soundcard and USB headset at the same time using some software but it's faffy and doesn't work perfectly as it can degrade the sound.

I'd also recommend not whacking the power all the way up. IMO a subtle amount of tactile feedback is better in the long run. If you're being bounced around in your chair and vibrated constantly you can feel a little bit ill after a while.
