Button mapping to toggle Supercruise Assist On/Off

I'd like to be able to bind a button on my controller (Hotas 4) to toggle the Supercruise Assist mode On/Off for the currently selected navigation target.
Ideally, I would be able to bind it to the same button already bound to toggle Flight Assist mode On/Off (L3) since that binding presently does nothing in Supercruise.

Thanks in advance for considering this request.

I agree after using this new module for a couple days it does become more time consuming and cumbersome to keep going through the nav panel to activate it. You plot your course by the galaxy map then the system map so why do we need to go to a third ui / screen for this ? It should be made to be bound as a hotkey as always on/off that way you don't have to reset it after being interdicted too

No way, probably you wont have it... spaceships is not that advanced tech... That button is just for old cars like my VW ... even they have it. :D

I've said it before and I'll say it again; It doesn't even need a key binding, it can be completely automated:

Why have a separate button for it in the first place? Why not just activate supercruise assist automatically given

1) one is installed on the ship,
2) the ship is in supercruise,
3) a navigable body is targeted,
4) the ship trajectory is aligned with the targeted body, and
5) the throttle is in the blue zone.

There's practically zero chance of it being activated by mistake. That's not even QoL (well except in the ED world where the whole SCA is considered a luxury item), that's like UX 101 stuff really. Omit unnecessary steps from the user flow.

I'd like this too.

Overall the keybinding scheme could use a some optimization I feel. I can't even imagine playing without reWASD and Xbox Elite controller (with the 4 paddles)...I don't know how console users manage!

Been already suggested in multiple other threads.
Looks like mine was first...
Edit: Ah, nope... Three posts were days before mine.

I don't use one yet, but I agree w/ OP.
This suggestion is not specific to using the HOTAS.

If you ask me, it should be the same shortcut for FA on/off, doubling up; the two functions don't overlap.
Yep, I said the same in my original post up there.

Same as I think night vision/orbit lines should share the same button for simplicity's sake.
Sure, I could get on board with that.

Agreed, I'd like to see the SCA toggle function made mappable as well.

Especially since now SC assist can't be turnet on/off via throttlling to max speed.
In fact, you can still do this. In the 'Ship' tab of the right panel, under 'Flight Assist', you'll find the 'Supercruise Assist' setting. The update defaulted this to Auto Throttle, but changing it to Manual Throttle will give you back the max throttle override for SCA.
