Buy all/sell all and Cancel Launch controls

Just a couple of small suggestions that have likely already been made. It would be nice in the commodities screen to have a buy all and sell all options in addition to the + and - buy and sell options, which would buy or sell the selected commodity up to your current empty (or full) capacity. Now that I am in Type 6 it is a pain to click buy and sell 68 times... similarly a "sell all" option for astronomical data would be good.

Finally, on the main HUD, once launch is selected, perhaps replace it during the first 5 or 10 seconds (when being moved up to the pad) with a "cancel launch" button which would return you to your hangar? I have hit launch by mistake on several occasions when I meant to enter hangar instead.

that littlemenu is hopelessly nad desing, what is the point of having two options for hanger and services, you cant access services without going into the hanger autmatically, you cant launch without going into the hanger automatically, its just a very bad bit of design that ha clearly been left out of date as other changes have been amde- hopefully it gets fixed soon

You can access everything except Outfitting without going into the hangar. Launching does not take you into the hanger, it simply drops your docking pad down and turns you around. That's not the hangar.

Bad bit of design? LOL, that's funny. There's nothing to fix, bub.

You can click and hold the + and - buttons. You don't have to click them 68 times. The longer you hold the button, the faster the fill rate, too. It goes from +1, +1, +1 to +10 and so forth. Your cargo will fill up in like .5 seconds if you hold the button.

Err, and that ties up a landing pad on small stations (or very busy larger stations) while you are there, making them unavailable to other players. Err hanger does not.

I didn't know that until you told me. Perhaps that qualifies as bad UI design? Not to mention repetitive strain injury from holding buttons down repeatedly while flying transports. Here's a stunning thought - why not popup a dialog and allow you to type a number in it? If it is not bad UI design it certainly is lazy UI design.

And when was the last time you were at an orbital platform with more players wanting to dock than there were landing pads?

Really now...

No, it doesn't qualify as bad UI design.

I would love to see your credentials and your portfolio to show how many video game UIs you've ever designed.

If you're worried about repetitive motion, you shouldn't be on a computer. These are clumsy arguments that aren't well thought out at all. Please just ... just don't.

And your credentials are what exactly? I thought this was the "make a suggestion" thread, not the "troll and criticize other people's suggestions" thread. Here is a radical concept $TFU and let the devs read the suggestions and decide. Also, take a look around at the several threads with people complaining about overloaded starports at the starting locations. Second, if someone hits launch by mistake, they cannot trade from the pad - they are launched and have to exit the station, request docking and reenter again. Third, as a UI designer (something I used to do) your primary concern, in any industry, is ease of use for the user and multiple, clear ways of achieving use cases. If you don't understand that, please just... don't.

Just because you don't like my reply doesn't mean I'm trolling. I'm not trolling but if it makes you happy to insult me, personally, then so be it. It says more about you than it does me.

You're wasting time and pushing good threads with legitimate suggestions further down the forum to disappear in the sea of inane suggestions.

There are NO overloaded starports outside of main hubs and there's a reason for that. Main hubs are main hubs. They're SUPPOSED to be traffic jams. People complain all the time that this game is empty and they never see any players, but when they see other players, THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT TOO.

If someone hits launch by mistake, they need to learn to be more careful, be mindful of what they're freaking doing. The number of request for kiddie hand holding on this forum is amazing. The loud few want confirmation dialogues for everything. Are you sure you want to abandon a mission? Are you sure you want to dock? Are you sure you want to undock? Are you sure you want to launch? Are you SURE THAT YOU'RE SURE THAT YOU'RE SURE? Are you sure that you want to turn left? ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU WANT TO FIRE YOUR WEAPONS?

People are just plain lazy. They don't pay attention. They make mistakes that, sure, some other people make. My objection is the instant hubris that has the player who made the mistake blaming the UI or the game in general or Frontier as a whole for allowing them to make a mistake. HOW DARE YOU LET ME MESS SOMETHING UP! They don't take responsibility for their being impatient and careless with their menu options.

The primary concern in SOME industries is convenience and ease of use, yes, but not this one. This game isn't supposed to be carebear central. Elite is HARD. Elite is UNFORGIVING. Elite is NOT carebear.

I like how you're so conveniently and suddenly a veteran UI designer.

Before you know it, MY game is going to be full of ARE YOU SURE?!?!?!?! because some other chump is too busy drooling on himself to pay attention to what he's doing!

Yes, and who elected you King of the Internet to decide what is an inane suggestion? You don't have to agree with other peoples suggestions and I don't need to hear your opinion on it, I have my own thank you. It is a suggestion thread, not a "discuss suggestions" thread.

Just so you know, while I am typing this, I am sitting near a port waiting for _an NPC_ to get off the one bloody medium size pad it has. Not even a Commander holding things up this time. Hope you enjoy that when it starts happening to you.

I'm not blaming anyone, or complaining, or asking for confirmation dialogs. I made a suggestion. You butted in, and I should have ignored you. Oh wait, you're on ignore now. Goodbye.

I don't have to be king to disagree with you.

The entire point of forums is discussions, so in a suggestions subforum, the entire point IS "discuss suggestions."

It's never happened once. I have over 100 million spent, which means docking and redocking to turn in bounties or missions or cargo. I have 44 million in trade alone, spending literally days and days and days congruently doing nothing but trade runs between stations and orbital platforms. I've docked literally hundreds if not thousands of times by now. Not once have I ever been inconvenienced by an NPC or a player trying to land.

If it happens? So what. That's part of the game. You're not the king of the universe so you don't get docking priority everywhere you go and neither do I or anyone else.

I am returning from a 17000 Ly exploration trip and I need to click it on few HUNDRED system data to sell it.....I will break my finger devs, PLEASE do some magic here and GIVE us SELL ALL option!
