Buy future DLCs once for both console and PC? Switch 2?

I assume that both PC and console versions are treated as separate/different games, when you purchase them. Meaning if you want to play it on PC, but also want to continue your park on the couch, you have to buy the game probably twice. Which is fine for me, since it's two different experiences.

Since Nintendo's new console is going to be revealed or released until spring 2025, I could imagine that releasing Planet Coaster 2 some time on the new Switch is an actual possibility. Imagine creating a park on the go on the new Switch and continue it on PC when you are back home. The new shared park feature should allow such a scenario.

But what I am wondering with this fantasy is, if this would mean that you not only have to buy the game twice but also all its future DLCs. Meaning if you want to play the DLC on both console and PC, you have to buy it for each platform. I don't know if this is possible with Epic, Steam and other providers, but it would be great to have some kind of discount or something on DLCs, if you buy them cross-plattform.

Probably not gonna happen, but at least I wanted to get the point across and maybe some people have better ideas or this idea is considered by Frontier in some type of way.
