Ships Buying a Chieftain

Ive been using eddb and the wiki to search for the ship and have been to around 10-15 systems at this point, ive not seen a single Chieftain so far. Is it a rare ship or am i just really unlucky?

And if anyone knows where to find one for sure, preferably a system that isnt permit locked, i would really appreciate it.

Alliance systems usually have them. Have you tried using Inara? https://inara.cz/galaxy-shipyard/

If you don't have access to founders world yet, most of the "high tech" alliance systems seem to have them. Use the gal map to find one close to your location. It's a really nice ship.

I can state with certainty that 'George Lucas' had them shortly after launch. That's where I got mine.

According to EDDB it's primarily Alliance systems that have them (surprisingly!

) and a few independents and one empire plus Founders, the stock ship isn't that expensive but the internals will push the cost over 100 mil if you really spec it up.

Quick build from EDShipyard with some bits I had in storage, even with this lash up it's a great ship.

Ive been to George Lucas and its gone. Sstupid question but do i need to have horizons to even be able to buy it and the type 10?

Yes for the chieftain. Type-10 I don't know.
