Buying A Cobra (Crossing Fingers)

So, I had a pretty good day in the Eagle and got up enough creds to buy a Cobra.

What are the chances I'll actually leave the store with one? I've heard all the horror stories, is it 50/50? Better or worse?

It increases with your ability to pay the insurance in case the worst happens. ;)

I actually meant to ask what my chances are of actually getting a cobra from the store. I've heard lots of people getting a CTD when they buy a Cobra.

I intend on having some cash for insurance. About 8k creds should cover it right?

Without weapons, yes. :D
Once you weaponize and hull, etc. It can get above 10K.

I got it!

Man that was stressful, I spent about 5 minutes looking at the little circle, but it eventually came through!

What a cool ship! Fast as all get out, and the engines sound like they mean business. I kinda screwed myself and only left 12K in my pocket though... I guess that's enough to go trading for a while until I can kit this beast out.

Fun stuff!

Did the same thing this morning! tested the hell out of the feds until I got enough money together for a shiny new Cobra MkIII. Saved. Returned to a station. Saved. Quit. Restarted. Sold current equipment.


Bought a Cobra MkIII


Waited.


Spinny spinny circles!





YAY! Cobra MkIII!!!!!

Then I had to go to work. booooo.

Ouch 12k, bit of a grind until you can afford to fill her up with high value cargo.

Nice ship though.

Well damnit!

I was lied to buy a trade calculator and lost 4k on my first trade mission.

I decided to go to an extraction zone and pop a few bounties with my single lazer, but I was shocked!

Is it normal, now that I have a cobra, that NPCs just automatically turn and attack? I had three NPCs in the extraction zone, that were 'clean' just up and start wailing away on me!

Is this normal?
