Buying a Imp Cutter

Buying a Fer De Lance...

;)

I sometimes forget the Cutter is quite large and end up bouncing around in either the docking mail slot or getting stuck on structures inside a station..

OP, you'll enjoy the Cutter.

My main account is maxed out with all rep and ships, but my alt account only has imperial rank because I find I never fly Federal rank locked ships enough to ever grind Fed rank again.

Step 3: Get your landing gear stuck in the grill.

Why would you have your landing gear down while going through the grill? :)

EDIT: Ah, spotted your reply, lol. All I can say is that landing gear should only be deployed when approaching the pad, and retracted immediately on departure. :D

Step 1: Boost towards Space Station.

Step 2: Miss Station completely.

When I do this, I always hit the station back wall. :D

The times I've gotten my landing gear hung up it was from deploying it outside the station. Got to do something to slow that brick down once it's rolling, I've slammed the back of an orbital hard enough to do some serious hull damage before.

Deploy cargo scoop.

RIP Goose.

Crew members don't get a working ejection seat ;-)

@ Vedmo - The Cutter can get through the slot without issues with the gear down, if you are clipping the gear you are clearly flying too low. Always keep in mind that the bridge of the Cutter is around 95ft above the base of the landing struts, that is a long way up.

I said it, because I have learned many people are leaving the station with landing gear down. Helps with ship handling, probably and doesn't matter in smaller ships. But after they bought a Cutter, several times I have heard "Good god, I will have to learn to retract the landing gear inside the station" :D

You can just remove the pips from engines. It works as gears/transmission. Won’t prevent accidently boosting though of course.

To avoid: Learn the breaking distance of your ship. Go 15km out, stop, turn towards slot, full throttle and boost. On 10km zero everthing and read distance when stopped.

Watch engine pips though and deploy landing gear to play around with the breaking diatance.

It's reallysatisfying when I boost my Asp Explorer towards an outpost and it comes to a stop 100m or so near the landing pad.
