Buying A Rift On Friday..... Camera Question

thanks for all the advice guys, i'll leave the sensor initially then. till haggelling with myself over the controllers

Although not necessary for ED, there is a very slight tracking improvement with a 2nd camera imo. I was one who didn't really see myself getting Touch. Boy was I wrong. Excluding the aforementioned fun that is Robo Recall, I find myself addicted to playing 8 ball in Sports Bar VR and golf in The Golf Club VR. These 2 titles alone would have made Touch worth it for me, but there is so much more and more coming. Steam and Oculus summer sales abound.

Welcome to the new world CMDR.

top tip if you do not have anywhere to mount your sensors nice and high up.

selfie sticks!....

the sensor detaches from the base it is on, this can then screw into the bottom of the linked selfe stick. fully extended and on the base it makes it about 4 feet off the ground. it is still stable at this point.

but you can go one better and hook up 2 selfie sticks together.its a little unstable then, but gives you nice height.

something like this.... or what ever you can think off really lying around the house, will sort out stability issues if you need 2 fully extended sticks to give you the height

I only needed to do this to one of my sensors as i have one clipped to my arcade, one to my TV, which just left the rear one.

to clip your sensor to things, i used these

For wall mounting of the sensors, I got these: VideoSecu 2 Pack 2-6 inch Metal Wall Ceiling Mounts

They're meant for small security cameras and the like, but they're cheap, and easy to aim in whatever direction you need. I mounted mine close the ceiling in my office, all about 6 or 7 feet (around 2 meters) away from the desk. I'm using three sensors, but that's overkill for ED. But they do let me move around my office without losing tracking.

So it arrived last night around 7pm (GMT) and i am a happy bunny....

still need to find the best settings for it and me but initially i am a very pleased. didn't get much done last night i was wrecked tired but so far so good. Its almost a different game.

The touch controllers should turn up today
