Buying a Ship Kit

that, I have some arx saved since I put money a few months ago, and I wanted to buy some ship kits taking advantage of the discount, could someone help me if there are some kit that look bad aesthetically when changing the color? I recently saw that vulture kit didn't look very good, that's why I ask this question .

If I can avoid a frustration I would greatly appreciate it, since I currently cannot spend more money.

Thanks in advance.

What ship you interested in?
I can buy about 3 ... I was thinking of python, FDL and corvette, the vulture also looks great, but I saw another user with a red color on his that looked a bit fake. Does everyone look good with all the paint jobs or some are broken?

there are small boats that also look great, but lately I am very much in those 3 and the kraits, those of the alliance and the kits of the scout ships do not attract me too much. I also plan to have several of the ones I named for different tasks/configurations.

Imho, the Python, FDL and Corvette look good.
Both Kraits too but some paints (especially the precision paints) warp in combination with the Krait mk2 upper fin kit parts.

I recently bought the Mamba ship kit, don't, it's the only one I regret buying.
When using it's standard color red/white it's okay but as soon as you use another paint it looks like plastic and way out of place imho.
I even made a bug report for it, it's that bad.

I was referring to those mistakes. So I think I'll buy the ones from python and fdl for sure. thanks for the warnings.

(If it's not too late for you, the color failure also happens with some paintings of the vulture.)

Purely personal opinion but here goes...

The Python ship-kit only serves to make your ship look like roadkill.
No issue related to colouring although the parts simply change to the base-colour of your paint-job.

The FdL ship-kit is mostly subtle but has a couple of downright ugly parts.
I have no complaints about the way it's coloured but I've only tried it with Tactical and Midnight paint.

The Corvette ship-kit is also mostly subtle although some of the spoilers and nosecones look a bit cheesy.
Again, I've noticed no issues with the colours but I've only used it with Tactical and Midnight paint.

The Krait ship-kits provide enough parts that you can change the look of your ship in good ways but I reckon roughly 30% of the parts are ugly as sin.
Paint applies to it quite well but you do end up with some big winglets and spoilers that are simply paint-coloured, without much detail.

Honestly, I think the Vulture ship-kit is one of the best available.
It can change the way the ship looks in subtle ways or completely change the way the ship looks.
I haven't noticed any real problems with the way paint affects the Vulture ship-kit so if you don't like it there'll probably be things you don't like about the other kits I've mentioned too.
Basically, if you're not happy with the Vulture ship-kit, you're probably not going to like any ship-kit.

All IMO.

quite the opposite! I love the vulture kit and its combinations, but I saw it in red or with the color of the community or icaro (I don't remember well) where the same problem happens as with the mamba. I just wanted to know that, some would even leave them with the original paint, I all like them just because of changing the appearance a bit, but my options (arx / money) are limited and I wanted to make the most of a kit. Thanks to you too, I will have all the answers in mind

To be honest, the most that attracts me to the FDL are the engine covers, the long nose and a type of wing like vulture, just because it seems longer, but his other combinations are not so pretty .

The long nose looks especially good on the FDL, it's worth buying the kit just for that.

FdL shipkit is really good (even if there is some bad parts)
Vulture too, it makes it look like a mini Corvette with some parts. Beware of paintjob though even the base paint is ugly on the kit parts. Only like it with midnight black.

I looked at the Corvette kit and decided "too subtle" so went for the "OTT" version instead 😱 I thought initially that there were 'errors' in the paint effects, but it seems that certain panels are set to not change with corrosive paint jobs...

Not everyone's idea of nice, but I think quite fun :devilish:

I also like this one in the corvette and of aspX looks really good, being worn / rusted parts, I don't care much about paint changes. :)

Finally I decided on the FDL kit and the midnight paint, because graphite doesn't seem black enough to me.( now i have 22,000 arx)

I think I will now look at some raider kit .... could someone tell me if there is a ship where cockpit looks great or with a noticeable change with this kit? ( like rollcages)

I really want a change that I can see all the time like boobleheads, it seems silly, but I bought several on Halloween sales and the change in the cokpit is nice/pleasant.
(I know, it's a bit sad... :D:D)

Thank you all for the answers. Edited (ok, I think only mk3, asp and vulture have what I'm looking for)
