Buying materials with credits.

You should be able to buy engineering materials with credits. Currently I have been flying for around 3 hours hoping RNGeesus blesses me with the high grade component I need, this is not engaging gameplay nor is it fun. It is the sole reason I am playing less and less Elite these days, because when I want to play a game, I want to PLAY the game and not some arbitrary RNG hunt for stuff. The matts broker is terrible as the conversion rate makes it not worth bothering with.

Please make it so I can buy these things, I don't know how many more hours I can stand just aimlessly flying in straight lines doing what amounts to a scavenger hunt lottery.

You will get dumped on. This is not Atari gameplay. Instant gratification and stuff.
And if they add it, they will cost 10 mil for G5.

Aah yes, I know of those hypocrites that "dump" on people. Those who want the game to be pure simulation but shy away when it comes to realistic week-long repair times, or floating around in space for days after ship destruction

Agree completely, although i would not necessarily lower the exchange-rates, if keeping it non-credits. if its meant to be a in-game reason why the material traders do not want to exchange FOR credits, then i can accept that, but if at least you'd be able to trade a lot of something for the more rare,.. it would be an option.

Mr assuming you're a arcade-first-but-not-a-PC-maintainer here, is only partially being informative ... the amount after buying, a lot, for exchange for the more rare would be expensive, but if we're prepared to, and have gone to effort / taken risks you have not, 'Ace' ... then why should we not have more buying-power / options?

there's been too many exploits?

im an anti-exploits player, and have actively refused to do things, my wing-mates / PP-teammates, have asked me to go along with, but i still have more than enough to afford 50 irons for a rare-metal.

a matter of cargo. easy peasy.

im not dismissing that it would be un-affordable for many, not saying that's wrong,..

that is true, but in terms of deservedness,..
NOT EVERYONE with money, doesn't deserve it by scrutiny of assuming a exploits-user.

that's assuming the negative rather than not-saying you know, or, saying you don't know,
shooting first , asking questions later.

Either way would suit me, if changing a non-monetary materials trader, into a monetary one, would be corrupting the role / realistic in terms of the allowance of it, legally.

the minor inconvenience, of having to use cargo and buy something else first, would even seem more role-play, in some way.
