Newcomer / Intro Buying Odyssey while away from the Bubble

Hello, I want to try Odyssey activities like landing on planets with atmosphere, but I’m currently at Ishum’s Reach. Do I need to go back to a station for Odyssey? Can I use a carrier instead?

You could look for one of the DSSA carriers near you - see if they have a Pioneer Supplies for you to buy an Artemis suit (which has the biological scanner as the hand-tool you need for the exobiology stuff). BTW - you need to be in Odyssey to walk on the Carrier (or station) to get to the Pioneer Supplies shop / booth to buy the suit.

Without an Odyssey suit you can land on the (tenuous) atmospheric planets but I don't know if you can walk on the surface in your default flight suit.

Yes if you have Odyssey you can disembark in the flight suit, but you won't be able to scan any bios, you'd need an Artemis for that.

I know there is a DSSA carrier with Pioneer Services at Beagle Point, I will dock there and buy me an Artemis Suit.

I bought Odyssey for one of my alts while being halfway between Colonia and Sag A*. I ended up turning back to Colonia to buy an Artemis suit. Bit like having forgotten to turn the stove off .
