buying season 2, more info needed

So im planning on buy season 2 but i have a couple questions. To begin im on xbox. Well i double check features and saw a reddit post. It stated that season 2 will end sometime in 2016. Well were almost at the end of 2016. What will hapen to season 2 content when its over. Will this content be in base game, or will you still need horizons for season 2 content?

Before the delays with patch 2.1 (from March to late May) the season was scheduled to end in 2016. From the looks of it now, season 2 (Horizons) will probably extend some months into 2017.

Whether or not FDev will give Season 2 (Horizons) content for free to everyone in the future is not known at this time.

We don't know this actually.

Before and at the launch of horizons, there was great confusion about this subject. At first, buying horizons granted access to the base game as in you didn't have to buy ED base and Horizons as an expansion but only Horizons.

This caused great turmoil for some reason I didn't understand so they split the two and you had to buy them separately however the total amount was equal to the price of Horizons before the split.

Now, it's anyone's guess but I would bet to play season 3, one would need both the base game and planetary landing capability together.

Ok cool. Ill get horizons today then. Im not at the point where i need it but im at a fiancial point to grab it, lol.

I had read that the previous seasons were going to be included when a new season is released...dont have the source sorry, I must be lying, Fdev never said that. Ill definitely NOT be buying horizons so hope that they include it in season3 like promised.

I woulda waited but i made elite my main game so im making progress and i would love to launch a fighter when i finally get a large ship. Plus i wanna check out planets more closely and explore. Im worried about how close i can get. I know theirs that blue line but i dont know if ill blow up if i accidently cross it lol

And so far i know theirs landings, comin up we got fighters, ship and module transfer and im assuming aliens is only in horizons. Any other horizon exclusive features? Oh yea! Engineers. Any others?

I think buying Season 2 now is not the best thing to do, wait for Season 3 and you will get Season 2 content as well, however the base game will not include season 2 when season 3 is out but season 3 will include season 2 content as well , base game will remain 1.x while buying new seasons will give you access to previous seasons, that's what I heard, however I have no idea when season 3 will begin.

UPDATE:

Horizons (Season 2) was released on 15th of December 2015 so expect SEASON 3 to be released in December as well

Thats what im wondering. 2.2 is supposedly coming out same time on pc and xbox but who knows about the season 3 release. Plus this 30 bucks gives them more money/support.

Update:
I think it will be later. 2.2 is still "soon". I doubt season 3 is gonna be that close to 2.2
Just sayin
