Buying stuff takes forever. :-(

Even with holding a/d it takes 40 seconds to fully load/unload a cutter. Used to be that you could enter hangar, empty and fill your ship, and then hit the leave hangar button while you were still getting turned around on the lift, so the station would just bring you right back up once you are facing the right way and you can be back outside in under a minute. Now it takes as long just to pick up the commodity? Trading was already kinda boring but this makes it so much worse.
Wait till Legs. Then you'll have to load it yourself :D

How about BUY ALL or SELL ALL buttons? someone in frontier have allergy for them ?
The system requiring loading is an improvement on the old system, because:
  • You can accept a mission and swap ships to deal with it, without losing the mission as soon as you swap the ship (it used to happen !);
  • If you don't have enough room in the hold for one trip, you can do a partial load and return to complete the mission.
  • You can even do the mission in wings, and not everyone will take the same load (I guess).
A Buy/Sell All button is too simplistic for the above. You may wish to carry out two missions at once, partially loading one or both. It's just more flexible the way it is now.

What do you mean by too simplistic?its just selecting how much cargo you want to load or unload, and its total nuisance from the beginning. Speeding the counter is not removing the problem, only even failing at masking it. There are many ways to implement comfortable UI, and that's not one of them. You can add some field where the player can input the desired number (for example if you wish to load half of your cargo bay with bananas and other with mines for two different missions), or add the buttons all/none; you can use all of above, including some counter like it is now. And if you thought i proposed to exchange the buy/sell +1/-1 buttons by just sell or buy all... well that would be bad idea indeed :).

Typing in a number would make sense.

used to be able to hold down the mouse button to buy stuff fast. Now it goes up one tome every second only.
10 mins to fill my ship's hold? Really/

+1

I dunno what's going on.

I get that this is supposed to be the "newbie update" but does somebody at FDev think that the old method of incrementing stuff (as used in almost every other game in the world) is just too darned hard for newbies?

I have some news for FDev; with the new system, loading and unloading cargo is going to take a quantifiable chunk out of the remaining lifespan of a lot of their players.

Yep took me well over 3 minutes to fill a Cutter. That was with frantic button mashing.
Why didn't anyone on the dev team not think of a "buy/sell all" button?

Buying about 600 units took a little time. Planted a book on my mouse button, made coffee, learned how to play the violin, read "War and peace" (in original russian which I learned first) and sorted all of my underwear in alphabetical order.
Keyboard arrow keys eh?...
Knew I should have looked here first.

I was frustrated by this too but I read someone's post about A and D still having the acceleration and I tested last night, works. Except that when I'm maxed out on QTY to sell, I can't click anything. I have to 2 to go to chat then escape and then I can click SELL.

I'm using WASD atm & have the same issue with the unclickable confirmation. After filling or emptying the cargo with D, I use S to tab down to the accept button & it works with the mouse again (or if not, I can press space to confirm).

The exact keys will vary depending on your control assignments of course.

I've also logged a bug I encountered, where if you use the keyboard keys to adjust quantity you can no longer click "buy" or "sell" with the mouse - until you move the focus down to the buy/sell button using the keyboard.

That's what happens when a game has an impatient community losing their mind because the next update takes some development time. Rushed and unfinished, buggy updates to try to calm the angry mob...

Yes as someone else mentioned, using the down key (S for me) does work. At least there's a workaround for now.

Yes, I also used the secondary binding (arrow keys) for the trade menu, and it works, and I also encountered the "buy does not work" bug and clicking down is a workaround. Overall it's a bit clunky but really good imho.

Things to do for FD:

  • make the mouse viable / add a fill hold button
  • make the "buy not working" bug vanish
