Bye, bye FAS, they've been good times...Hail to the Chief!

So yeh, my newfound rank among the Federation Admiralty means I need to sell off most of my fleet, partly to fund the corvette, partly because now I have it, several of them are no longer needed for any specific function. I will collect them all again over time, but right now I want to make the bigbad.

So I started thinking about my ships, and always the first ship I think about is the FAS. At first I dismissed it "no way I'm selling the FAS, one of my best ships, what else..." but then I had another thought...Now that the chieftain is done (and lets face it, it's a brilliant combat ship, I love it), I can't think of any situation where I would take the FAS over the Chieftain. The FDL is just different enough to be worth keeping, but the Chieftain has rendered the FAS a solid second fiddle in the hybrid combat stakes. Was that intended? Anyway...

So ta ta for now, FAS, times have been good. If anyone thinks I'm making a mistake for some reason I haven't considered (bar nostalgia, I will buy it again in the future), speak now, or forever hold your peace. :)

Some players already switched back to the FAS because the canopy of the Chieftain breaks after a loud sneeze. :)

I'm just not having this problem, lol. It;s unreal. I find the canopy the same as the FAS, and I fight to 20% hull, mine's a hybrid with only 370mj of biweave. /shrug /lol #2mrpsftw

I'll bear it in mind though, I'd forgotten people were saying this., cheers guys n gals. :)

Selling all your ships is really stupid !

You took time to fit them, engineer them... It'll be all wasted time !

You'll see that once you have big ship, you will only wish to fly smaller and/or dedicated ship instead of the big fat cow...

Simply fit an Anaconda for passenger mission (cabin 8 slots max), go to Ceos/Sothis and farm passenger mission there : 50M/h
You'll have 1 billions credits in 20h of daily work...

I'll keep my best ships, the Chieftain, the FDL, the Courier, don't worry. :) I got no use for the FAS or the FGS now, so they'll be going, maybe the T9 temporarily. Thanks for caring though mate, honestly, but I don't grind. Doing datadeliveries for two hours last night is already about the closest I've come to grinding except when I was mining for Bill and Selene. that was my only grind I hated in this game. Money comes, slowly, but now it's going to come faster with teh corvette, and without carting around ungrateful ne'er-do-wells (old english saying meaning 'bad people') either! ;)

And they'll all get bought back eventually. :)

As for the engineering, they all need upgrading to the new system, which means that the only difference next time I engineer them will be the trivial G1 to G4 mats, which can ge traded for in seconds. All my ships were highly engineered under the old system. But now, legacy engineering is really not worth much.

The only ship I ever sold was the Type 7... But yeah, not really worth selling ships unless you're hard-up for cash...
Metas change every build and some ships come back into fashion.

I'd be annoyed if I had stripped and sold my T9 mining build just before the 256T of extra cargo buff... It takes a lot of time and effort to create the "perfect" build and sometimes I just want variety.

Lol. Its only a 100m tho, that is earned quite fast :p

Yeh, but I'm impatient. It's about 110 btw. :p

I'm probably going to sell the FDL too, again with teh intention of buying it back, but it's worth a few bob and again I prefer flying the Chief.

I'm always hard up for cash. Value my time too much to grind, I always spend my time in game trying to combine having fun with achieving my goals. I think I might have to go and deliberately earn some credits over the next few days though. I think a paasenger-conda is going to be the best way as cocofr said.

They're all worthless legacy modules. I couldn't care less about anything I haven't converted to new system.

The (material) difference between engineering a legacy G5 module to the top of new G5, and new module from scratch, is trivial.

You know apple is known for weak glass ... now lakon is know for using plastic over glass to achieve better speed.

Also, the Chieftain is HUGE. I mean it's hitbox is gigantic, even without the wings and thrusters. You gonna get hit. The Assault is a little more compact. I gonna build both but I'll never leave my FAS as a competent all-rounder.

you silly man :p converting them is worth it in my eyes :p

I hear ya, can't disagree on those points. She'll be back. It'll be worth it cos the corvette is an enabler. :)

You should see how many low level mats I have now, it's nuts, I've got pretty much 100 of everything, I don't think I'm ever going to need to farm anything but G5 mats ever again, lol.

I *LOVE* my Corvette. A ship that big with that much firepower being that maneuverable is so awesome it's almost criminal.

Like most other players (apparently), I advise against selling ships whenever possible, but frankly, the Corvette is worth it.

Just try not to pay too close attention to the jump range, lest your tears of joy at flying such a badass ship turn to just plain old tears. :p
