C&P how do i pay this fine then?

Just want to know the process as i haven't a clue...

i was rock hunting near an engineers base and strayed into the no fire zone while out hunting a final rock... so i got a fine

the engineers station i was at would not let me pay the fine off, nor would the station in the system... no big deal i dont really care... and swapped ship anyway

skip forward 2 months or more and now i want to use that ship in particular... but there is no option to pay off the fine, even through interstella contacts or whatever it is, and i forget which system it was i gained it in..

so in layman terms how do i pay it off with minimal effort? :S

Are you in the ship that has the fine you are currently trying to pay off? If you are not you wont be able to pay it off. Interstellar factors contacts should take care of it.

yeah i am - but that's the thing i cant pay it off?? i thought it was me just being thick? but its all red and says 0 fines and 0 bounties in the interstellar contact i've tried 2 different systems and the old log off /on trick - i've got to be missing something silly?

I've got a horrible feeling this is an edge case - did you get the fine in the SRV? Not sure you can pay those off, though as ^^ said, IF should allow it. Might have to contact support, or sell the SRV ;)

yes i did, i wasn't in the ship, most definitely in the SRV hunting rocks and strayed into the "no fire zone" for a metallic meteorite!

ill try selling the SRV if not might have to contact support...

FWIW selling the SRV and bay does nothing, interestingly i re-fitted the SRV bay and i then moved the SRV bay into storage and then into another ship.... (just out of interest)

now i have two fines one on each ship :( neither of which i can pay off

im going to raise a ticket i think, this SRV bay is cursed!!

I mentioned this a while back.

Can't exactly remember the circumstances but I do recall that while I was in the ship there was no hint of a fine (nothing in the transaction tab and no warnings about anonymous access or anything).
At the time, I just assumed the game had "forgotten" about the fine.

It was only when I swapped to a different ship and then went to transfer the other ship to a different station that I saw the "this ship currently has fines/bounties against it" message.
After that, I schlepped back to where it was parked, took it to an IF and I could pay the fine.

Maybe that's part of the workaround to get it sorted?
Swap into a different ship to get the game to acknowledge the original ship does have a fine against it, and then you can pay it off at an IF?

I have the same problem, I cant pay off the fine on my type 6. I got the fine in the ship. I can only see the fine when the ship is in storage and says I will have to pay extra to get the ship transferred because of the fine owing but when I get in the ship contacts shows no fines outstanding

And when you went to an IF in that ship - what happened?

I recently discovered the same thing as the OP.

To reproduce:

Dock at a planetary base and deploy your SRV.
Drive out away from the base a bit and shoot a rock while still in the NFZ -Fine for violation.
- at this point you will see the fine in the SRV and if you drive back to the base your SRV will flag "anon access" at you.
- if you board your ship at the base, you might be able to pay it off, but it will probably vanish.
- if you call your ship to you and fly it back to the base, the fine will definitely vanish, your ship will have full access and no fines will show in local contacts.

One of the following let me pay the fine eventually - neither is 100% reliable, I just carried on playing without making any changes to the ship/srv combo (didn't want to tickle what was clearly already a "confused" data structure) and kept trying each time the opportunity presented itself.
- at an IF in the same ship carrying the same SRV.
- on subsequent visits to the same base deploy the SRV, drive away the minimum distance and immediately request re-boarding to try and make the fine show up on the ship.

I've got fines all over the place, don't pay any of them as there is no need to.
