Cadmium

Hello,

I've been looking for cadmium to enable me to extend my jump distance to just over 40ly but have been unable to find it anywhere. It feels like I've been looking for ever. I headed south (down) from the bubble and have got as far as I can go without the extended jump range. I've looked on both high metal content planets and metal rich planets but have had no luck, although I've found plenty of tea and coffee and on one occasion even found a canister of meat which I was delighted with. The meat sandwich was a welcome change to the endless pot noodle dinners I've had since my voyage began...

I've looked at plenty of threads regarding cadmium etc but I can't find anything to explain what I'm doing wrong.

Does anyone know if there are certain star types in a system which effect which types of material can be found on the planets, or are there particular areas on planets where I should be looking? Does distance from the nearest star or even distance from the galactic core make any difference?

Anyway, there's probably nothing particularly interesting in this system which is just out of my current range but as most of you will understand I really need to get there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I've tried to find some sort of pattern to where things can be found but from what I can tell it's just random. I've found almost every element now but simply by stopping off at random planets and searching. It took me ages to find Yttruim but got a couple now just by being persistent. Keep looking, you'll find it, I have about 25 Cadmium in store now and so much Vanadium I've had to ditch some to make space. Distance from core etc doesn't make any difference at all from what I can tell as I've been all over the galaxy and found all the elements in various places. Best advice I can give is just to mix up the planet types, explore ice worlds, rocky moons, metal rich etc and you'll find it somewhere. Oh, and you won't just find it on metal rich and high metal content planets. I've found it on the ice worlds and those 'boring' rocky worlds that are often neglected.

EDIT: Oh, and usually if I don't find what I'm after in about 10 minutes or so I take off and find somewhere else. Usually faster this way rather than scouring the planet's surface.
