Calibrating the Oculus S helmet to correct the tilt of the horizon line in game

I began to notice that sometimes when starting a game in a helmet, the horizon line displayed in the helmet is not parallel to the actual horizon line of the surrounding room. That is, even with the settings of the protective zone, the screen in the settings is located parallel to the external horizon line, but when you load the game - in games, the horizon line is slightly tilted (by a degree and a half or two) to the left.
I found the reason by searching the Internet.
It turns out that the company Oculus had a program IMU Calibration Tool - a tool for calibrating Oculus helmets, in which you can correct various errors, including adjusting or removing the slope of the horizon. I found this program thanks to these links, which describe the principle of operation of the program (especially interesting is the setting and calibration of the second link) :

However, all references to the tool itself have disappeared. And Oculus itself has removed this tool from its website. But nothing disappears completely on the Internet. I found a link where you can download this tool:

Question to the owners of the Oculus helmet – has anyone used this tool to solve the problem with image tilt?
Please excuse my English.

Does the Rift S have this problem too? It was a serious issue for some CV1 users, including me.

I've tried using the IMU tool multiple times but it didn't help .. the view still slopes down to the left by 1.5 - 2 degrees. In most games it's not noticeable because you're moving around so much, but I definitely see it in Elite. I've just learned to live with it now as the screen is perfect in all other respects, and I didn't want to risk other more serious issues with a refurbished replacement unit.

But I'm very surprised they didn't fix the tilt for the Rift S!

Yes - this model of helmet also has this problem. I just have it in my Oculus Rift S helmet... The horizon in the helmet is tilted to the left by one and a half degrees.

I recommend contacting Oculus support. I heard they make you prove the view is tilted, so people were using an app called 'desktop view', in combination with something else to prove the headset was perfectly horizontal - it's been a few years and I can't remember what they used .. maybe the debug tool showing the z rotation angle, or maybe a 'digital spirit level' (I installed one on my phone and it worked well)

But it's definitely not normal, and if it's under warranty they should replace it with a new unit

If you need any of those apps I mentioned just let me know and I can get them for you tomorrow
