Call me...

What if, a controlling faction had an FC they wanted to remove. Right now there is no real way to stop an intruder from being in the system tanking your BGS. If the people are in PG/solo there is no way to stop it, which is something we have to live with however I had this idea.

What if the controlling PMF could actively work BGS to push an FC to jump out of the system. I think this would have to be squadron only actions and within a controlled system of that PMF or there would be room for abuse of this mechanic. I don’t know if this could be missions generated by the server or if within the system map the squadron leader or limited top brass could request a mission or a POI activity to start allowing us to control our systems some. The FC would be forced out for a limited time so it would make this dynamatic and more fun.

What do you think regarding positive ways to enable this?

How to prevent it being abused?

What triggered event should we get?

if the people would be in open, in best case you'd waste time engaging in pvp, and in most cases you'd hurt your controlling faction by attacking them.
there is absolutely no place for direct pvp gameplay in BGS.
if i'd see an opposing player in a BGS conflict in open, i'd assume its bait.

a fc does not tank your systems BGS. player do.

so what? you can't lock out players, who are not hostile to the station controlling faction, from stations. and you can't lock out players from systems.

What triggered event should we get?
none. i would like to see lockdown being triggered more easily - it locks out most player BGS activities.

Several flaws with this proposal I can see:

- As far as the BGS is concerned, there is no such thing as "PMFs and NPC factions" - there are just "fations", treated identically by the game. So any mechanism given to PMFs to defend their turf would have to be given to NPC factions too.

- Making it squadron-based would be pointless, as squadrons do not own carriers - players do.

- Where would they jump to? "Away from here" is not a destination. Would you dump them into some random system, which in all likelihood has another PMF defending its turf? Some carrier owner logging off from the game for a week or two could end up logging back in to find their carrier pushed several times, winding up in some random system hundreds of LY from where they left it.

- Carriers need tritium to jump. Forcing a carrier to jump away would presumably require tritium to be used. Where does that tritium come from? What if a carrier owner is carefully calculating a route across the galaxy, only to have their plans spoiled by being forced to use some of their tritium to jump someplace in the opposite direction of their planned route? And if you make the forced jumps tritium-free, then that opens up exploits where people get their friends to force-jump their carriers for them for free without using the expensive and hard-to-get fuel.
