Call to Action: Operation Shieldbearer -- An effort to reinstate Aegis as humanity's primary anti-Thargoid coordination and defense agency

The time has come to rise up and ReForge an Independent Aegis!

The superpowers may have abandoned the cause, but some still believe in Aegis. Rise up CMDRS, it's time.

I did also apply for a Community Event for my idea to support an Aegis resurgence. I saw that yours got approved first though and is focused on Aegis Research in the Pleiades, so I tailored my Community Event to encourage strengthening Aegis Core in Sol to make them parallel Aegis support efforts, occurring mostly on the same dates. Good luck with your efforts, Commander! o7

Excellent, feel free to use anything I have posted with, or spoken on, in the promotion of your event as well.

I am maintaining my updates in the Events comms channel and will reference your effort there as well upon my next communication. Sol may be easier for bubble restricted independent pilots and supporters.

Hopefully together we can restore the heart of what Aegis originally stood for and forge a better and brighter future for humanity, and the galaxy.

Sol is BGS locked. You won't be able to accomplish anything there, if you had a lot of people the best you could do is a small rise in influence (like, probably less than 10% best case) but it'll be erased the moment you stop by the high traffic.

For the purposes of BGS system control, that may be an issue. Yet if the goal of this effort is to show support by individual pilots to keep Aegis around, then I believe it is still worth the effort myself.

I have been tracking the work for those participating in Operation Shieldbearer. Great work to all the Aegis supporters in SOL.

Solid gains and didn't backslide at all with support.

Operation: Shieldbearer never got the official FDev greenlight (probably because of Sol being the proposed focus of the operation), so I can't say for sure how many heeded the call. But for a system that is supposed to be BGC locked, a (less than) 1% upward movement for a faction that had little to start with in the first place AND DROPPING up until the Pleiades and Sol operations went underway, I'll take it as a very positive sign. Thanks for the parallel support from Operation: Reforge Aegis!

But for a system that is supposed to be BGC locked
Capital-class [1] BGS locks don't intrinsically affect internal influence movement - they only prevent conflicts for assets and inbound (but not outbound) expansions.

Getting a couple of percent gain for a faction in that position in a high-traffic system is still good work, of course.

[1] There are a wide range of Frontier-placeable restrictions on the BGS possible, some permanent and some for special occasions, so "BGS locked" is an ambiguous phrase and you always need to check which type applies.
