THIS.....if players influence the galaxy, then pirates or groups that are against galactic expansion should at least have the ability to cause this community goal to FAIL!! Normally, I play well with others. But, my character was very much against wasting his company's resources going after a mobile station. So, in my ASP last night, he was going after traders to slow progress and convince them that the build is a futile attempt at meeting this goal. Especially since everyone was trading gold (that leads me to the next point....). So what is this going to be? A Golden Station?
As a gamer, though: I totally support this community goal and I think it's a great way to bring open play players together! Keep them coming!
My next point......If we have a community goal such as this, then the mission needs to have limitations on what metals are required and how much. If we need 100,000 units of gold, then that's it....no more gold. Go get something else. Then once the orders are filled, the event is complete. None of this 6 days of selling max profit gold crap.
EDIT: Before you start criticizing me, I played ALL 3 ROLES LAST NIGHT: Trader, Bounty Hunter, Pirate. And yes, I have been interdicted by players several times, and I enjoy each time. But I also have the right to be an a-hole too sometimes.
