Calling all explorers, how far did you get?

I'm presently at M23 Sector TU-0 CB-11 approx 2000+ ly from SOL.

That's my furthest so far, what's yours?

Just the standard trip to Sag A*. Which is over 20K LY away.

Others have made it to the rim on the 'other side' which is over 60K LY away.

I am currently a bit over 13K LY away as the crow flies when it is sober, but over 23K LY into my journey as the ship jumps, and still heading further away.

I'm currently at Eta Carinae, which is six or seven thousand light years from Sol, IIRC.

My previous longest trip was about a thousand light years, so I'm being a little bit more adventurous this time. But I'm obviously no long-haul traveller...

I'm returning from NGC 6357 right now, aprox 8,000 ly out. Not very much in the eyes of experienced explorers but for me it started to become a serious grind and there's also the deadline of the Grand Sirius Interstellar Expedition.
It's my third trip and my longest one.
Wish you all a safe return, where ever you are

hi guys, it would be nice it you wanted to report how long you have been traveling and what ships you are using to :)

For NGC 6357 to reach and with side objectives on the way, really only scanning earth-like/ waterworlds ( because of exploration CG mechanisms) , i needed around 15h of gameplay. I fly an asp explorer but will probably try out the anaconda next time, that is if there's not a new exploration vessel until then. But the annie's slow turning speed in supercruise is scaring me a bit of. Anybody here who got some experience flying the annie for exploration?

Hah, I'm only about 1klye out from Sol - don't judge, first time I'm out there. But I'm really enjoying this. Just hitting the border where there are stars without anyone's name on them :)

Thought it would be boring, but it really is not. :D

I've spent my time exploring in the Sagittarius and Perseus Arms near to home rather than traveling to distant locations. Greatest linear distance from Sol, about 12,000 LY, but it was part of a long voyage out to the rim via some of the nebulae, then following a long arc around the rim, then curving back to home. About 50,000 LY altogether, 2 months in space.

The farther you go out, the prettier the sky becomes. Consider flying up as far as you can, you can see across the whole galaxy that way. makes everything look pretty small...
