Like others - I'd love the ability to take beauty shots using a camera drone. I do agree that it needs to be done in a way that feels like it fits into the Elite universe rather than an unexplained and magical 3rd person view.
So camera drones seem like a good solution. Made me think though - could we have missions that use them? Maybe if we stuck a mini cargo scoop on them you could do something like pop into a USS with a damaged ship hull. You could use the camera drone to enter the ship and potentially pick up cargo or even remlocked floating crew. Makes a new career of scavenger without yet needing the ability to get out of your ship.
