Engineers Can an engineer upgrade another engineer's mod?

I have a stupid question that maybe there's a stupid answer for.

If you have an engineer mod a component to a certain level, will another engineer be able to mod it to the next level? Or do you have to start again?

For instance, say you got Felicity Farseer to mod your power plant to level 1, can you then get Hera Tani to take it to level 2 and beyond without having to go back to level 1 again?

It depends on your own access with that engineer. Imagine you have a G3 shield booster you've engineered at Lei Chung and you take it to Didi Vatermann, who you have only just unlocked. You'd have to remove the mod altogether so Didi can start engineering it at G1. If you have previously accessed higher grades with Didi, he can take it to G4 straight away, even if it was engineered to G3 with Lei Chung.

No, this is untrue. You can apply an Experimental at any stage of the process, and it stays there. You can change it later, also, although you lose the mats you spent on the first one.

To the OP, yes, assuming you have the necessary rep with the Engineer, and that the Engineer is capable of upgrading the module further (some Engineers can only do the lower grades of some modules).

This is correct. I just in fact did an upgrade that was G3 from another engineer with a special and finished it to G5 at a different engineer. No loss of special and rolls began at G4.

Really? Great....I'd like to re-do just he Experimentals on two upgraded beams, but I don't need to redo the G3 rolls? Awesome!

EDIT: Confirmed, I was able to do this last night with no troubles. Thank you!
