Can... can I post a thread again?

I not playing Odyssey anymore. I gave up, but I still hope for a good surprise in very short time. Because to spend money for an unfinished product is not a pleasant experience.

And happily believe that the argument "Fdevs will solve this in a couple of months" makes a good justification for all this situation is another unpleasant attitude that I'm not inclined to oblige.

I'll not repeat myself. This dire situation is already clear and obvious to anyone who is not blinded by... uh... a sense of distorted entitlement.

It's another week, and the clock is ticking. Frontier shall have to give us much more than mild "hotfixes" and "patches". What makes me very depressed is to realize that after YEARS of design, development and testing the developers has come short of a real meaningful expansion. How can they solve all Odyssey problems in few days?

No, nice atmospheric horizons are not a great achievement; the experience of walk on alien planets is not a great achievement. Those are beautiful ED features, but they hardly define what Odyssey should be.

Odyssey should give us more, much more, without removing all the amazing things already done by Horizons. THAT would be an amazing achievement. A real expansion of Horizons, not a completely different game, detached of all good things already made.

Frontier "big guys" will never read this post. But, somehow, they need to change their minds about this sad and unfinished version of Odyssey. They need to think about a do-over.

Yeah, it is painful to admit we have failed. But in this case, Frontier must. Because if all the people involved in the creation of Odyssey did not change their minds and have the courage to step out of this broken path, its over. The very future of Elite as a relevant game will be in perish.

Think about that.

Very true - this doesn't bode well for the future of ED as a whole.

Most of the problems in Odyssey are probably going to be fixed at some point.
If I get you right though, you are looking for problems outside of Odyssey. Obviously they are not going to fix it to a state that it becomes the game of your imaginary dreams. It's possible they'll add some of the stuff you are looking for further down the line, but it will never be the thing you created in your head. Nobody can do that. It's your head after all, and they can't get inside it. And even if they could, it probably wouldn't be a good game because your head is not a development studio.

Well said!

Care to elaborate on what more you would like to see?
More IA response (fine, confiscate stuff, expel from the settlement, arrest,... jump), better suit customization (closer to what we have for ship), more CZ mod (depending of the conflict state, like powering down/up a settlement, evacuate/protect the civilian, being able to take/lose control of the automated defense system,...), proceduraly generated campaign, a meaningfull biological gameloop (e.g. trying to understand how the algorithm propagates flora, being able to make your own garden/forest with this knowledge and even being able to terraform a planet in the [very] long term),... it's just some ideas

I've stayed out of these arguments on this forum, but the fact of the matter is that there are people right now playing Odyssey and enjoying it. I myself have been playing it since it came out and I'm not going back to Horizons (I've even taken 3 days off work this week so I could spend all day play Odyssey and I'm loving it). When the Alpha was out I played that as my main game for the whole month so I've certainly I've already got my £40 worth out of the expansion already!

Now, I'm not going to sugar coat it. Are there problems absolutely, should it have been released in this state, absolutely not, but we're here now and we just need to deal with it. Some of the bugs are annoying (such as transaction error handing in missions) and some are much bigger such as the low FPS but the only thing we can do now is wait for FDev to fix them.

Your opinion, not shared by everybody. I'm sure everybody on this forum could come up with hundreds of ideas about things to be added but it's easy to sit on a forum and come up with ideas, it's a LOT harder to actually code them and fit them into an existing game.

You obviously decide the best for your free time and your wallet, nobody should have a say on that nor judge you because of that.
But why do you feel the need to let us now so much that you're making multiple threads?
Don't take this as an offense, because it isn't, but what do other people care of what you do with your money or free time?

Wait till console release. I guess they will solve most of the technical issues till then. I doubt you will have the same fps than in Horizons but it will be close and be enjoyable enough.
