I purchased Elite Dangerous on the Oculus platform years ago and have played religiously in VR ever since. It is the only platform that I own Elite on.
While technically, it is PC, it is not through Steam and I am unable to pre-purchase Odyssey through Steam as it tells me that I need to own the base game to do so.
After looking on Oculus, I have seen no mention at all of Odyssey anywhere on the Oculus platform, which makes sense as the expansion is not going to support VR right away.
Is there a remedy for my situation? It seems that not only can I not pre-order, but even when the game goes live, as I only own Elite on the Oculus platform, I will not have a way to purchase the Odyssey expansion. Even from Frontier it sends me to Steam to pre-order. I can't find a way to just buy it directly from Frontier and (I'm assuming) apply a game code to my account when the expansion goes live.
Any insight?
