Engineers can I transfer cargo to another ship? please somebody say yes.

after many, many hours of searching I finally found a mission giving 4 micro weave cooling hoses.
So off I went, completed the mission, then realised I did the mission in my cobra. ( I was very tired)
But I want to use the micro weave cooling hoses to upgrade the engines in my Corvette.
Is there any way to transfer them to the corvette?

If the ship you change to have enough cargo space (4 in your case) you can change ships and it will move cargo to other ship. At least it worked in beta haven't tested in live.

I've changed ships a number of times in 2.1 with some cargo in the hold.

Cargo transfers automatically only if you swap ship (providing the ship you swap to has enough cargo space).

It'll do what you are asking for however you cannot store cargo in a stored ship, if the ship you are swapping to doesn't have enough cargo space it won't allow you to swap and pop up with an error.

Yesss. it worked. Thank you guys. I was sure that the game would not let you change ships, if you had cargo in the hold.

Cargo does not include limpets. They won't transfer and have to be sold before changing ships.

In previous versions you would have been correct - it's a comparatively recent change (for the better).

Allowing transfer of cargo between ships is hopefully the first step towards station side storage becoming available.

That is a completely different issue as it would allow a player to fly with no cargo when he had some which reduces the risk he has.
