Can I turn off the 'grey-out' effect when fails positional tracking?

Hi CMDRs,
Can I turn off the 'grey-out' effect when my oculus rift fails positional tracking?
One of the infrared LEDs of my oculus rift is dead so it sometimes fails to track the position.
It's okay for me beacuse the positional tracking itself is not so essential element when playing Elite Dangerous,
but the problem is the 'grey-out' effect. So I want to turn off the effect regardless of the tracking status, but I cannot find how.

Thanks in advance.

would really like to know how to do this also. using an e2 i dont have positional tracking so its constantly greyed out with oculus API. strangely through steamvr it doesn't grey out but for that i need t use OR 0.8 and an older beta of steamvr which is juddery.

My understanding is that it's an anti nausea measure. Probably put there to satisfy the lawyers. Hopefully there is at least a config file entry that will achieve what you want.
