Can not purchase items unless you are logged into game

So with the introduction of ARX, you can no longer purchase items unless you are logged into the game. This doesn't make sense. What if you are away from your gaming computer, (say out of town for example), and you want to purchase some of the Black Friday Midnight Paint jobs, ( that is if they are going to be offered this year)?
Or what if your gaming computer is offline, say for a rebuild?

Okay, I stand corrected. Looks like I missed the FDev post saying they are bringing the Elite Store back online:​

So apparently this is not happening anytime soon. IF the black Friday midnight black is going to be available again this year, by not being able to purchase them directly from the store, this is going to make it very difficult to purchase them for my alternate accounts.

The same goes for the end of the year countdown paintjobs, (again IF they are going to be available again this year that is). How exactly is one suppose to purchase these if I am out of town and do not have access to gaming computer at the time?

EDIT The store for Elite Dangerous did not initially load or open in my browser when I posted the above a few minutes ago. With temp file and history flush, the store now opens in Chrome. However, it is browse only

Thats my strategy. I never bought any elite merch while logged in and i have at least 3-4 paintjobs or packs for most of the ships i own.
I used to browse, maybe buy something, then log in to the game to see what it looked like.

Only if you use arx and thats a step too far for me. I buy everything except food online and as soon as frontier makes buying elite merch as convienent as my other online purchases i might continue buying it.

No, you're just hitting the wrong URL. I'm not even sure how you got there. Just go to frontierstore.net and click on Elite Dangerous Game Extras. Alternatively, you can go directly to https://dlc.elitedangerous.com/ .

That 'Game Extras' link under Elite Dangerous on the main store page should now take you to dlc.elitedangerous.com, which is the new correct address. Maybe your browser had cached the old version, or there was a bug on the site (wouldn't be the first time)
