Newcomer / Intro Can not start in desktop mode

I'm needing to open in desktop mode to setup my Thrustmaster T 1600m setup but the following msg: Unhandled Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. What do I need to do? When I first installed the game I had no problem mapping the joystick, after patch 3 was installed I have been disabled to do anything. I have uninstall and reinstall the game with no luck. Any suggestion.

I'm running I7-9700 CPU, EVGA 2070, 1Tx4 SSD in raid, EVGA 850 PS

I'm not sure I understand the question but I'll have a go.

If you're having trouble switching between tablet mode and desktop mode in Win 10 then try using the Windows key + A. The a panel should appear on the right hand side of the screen giving you the option to swap.

If you're having trouble installing your Thrustmaster joystick try re- installing the drivers from their website .
I think that the process fails if the joystick is plugged in when you start the driver installation. From what I remember you start the installation then about half way through it tells you to plug it in. I may be wrong about that.

Installing the drivers is not the same as choosing a preset from within the game. It's a separate process.
