Engineers Can one engineer complete the work of another?

Hi all,

probably asked many times, but I do not find it:

On my Python I did the dirty thruster update at Felicity.
When I have access to Palin can I continue there with grade 2?
Or do I have to repeat the grade 1 dirty thrusters again?

This applies to many other mods: Shield Boosters starting at Lei Cheung up to G3, completing at Didi up to G5?

Once you unlock Palin pin the blueprint and any further mods can be done in the remote workshop, experimental effects can be added at any engineer that does thrusters (or shields, boosters, FSD etc.) so Farseer can add the Drag Drives experimental to a grade 5 DDT mod even though she can only mod to grade 3 DDT.

Don't you need to unlock grade 2-5 first?

That's a different question. That's - "Do I have to gain access for each grade of upgrade for each engineer?".

Okay, and whats the answer to this question?

I guess I Need to rank the second engineer up before I can e. g. do a grade 4 mod?!? This probably can also be done by using another module also from another ship?!?

You need to unlock whatever grade you are going to roll at the engineer you do it at. You can't go level 5 at Farseer and then finish a grade 5 FSD at Martuke unless Martuke is also unlocked to level 5.

Depends. Engineers can work on many types of modules. If it's weapons you can have more than one on the same ship. You can also buy or transfer a new module into your ship.

I think it would be interesting if different engineers who work on the same modules needed slightly different mats to reflect that they don't do things exactly the same way.

All engineers use the same mats. You can check this out on Ianara...

It would be a good thing, as you could chose the engineer that wanted the mats that suit your playstyle.
