Can the Myrmidon Initiative be trusted?

I am aware of an in game organisation referring to itself as the Myrmidon Initiative.

Their aims appear to be honourable, but i am concerned they may be a front for something far more sinister.

The Myrmidon is the name of a legendary race of people from ancient Greece who were said to be created from Ants.

Now the other thing to note is that the Myrmidon were the footsoldiers of Achilles who fought the Trojans.

So what has this got to do with Elite you may say.

Well there is an Achilles within the game, its a corporation called Achilles Robotics.

Now when i see what is in effect an Android i start to wonder if this Achilles Robotics is conducting Illegal Ai research.
Could they know something about the Guardians. We know they appear to have had a holy war concerning AI?

How then are the Myrmidon tied up in all this. It smacks of a conspiracy for AI to lull the human race into a naive viewpoint with the long term aim of taking control and manipulating us.

While looking into Achilles robotics i also came across this old thread which has some interesting reading.

When I first saw the "Achilles" screen ad, it reminded me of the ESET antivirus robot.
Maybe it's an early setup for NPC androids as hireable crew members and future spacelegs feature gameplay.

Come to think of it. I feel it's a missed opportunity for FDev where they could have used robot bodies with
holo heads instead of entire holo-me which with 3rd person gunner view are the most immersion breaking features to date.
Player controlled robot crew, or NPC robot crew would better fit in with the Elite lore and history of why the ships even
needed extra crew and crew seats with controls and panels.

Actually these guys are just more Thargoid loving than the old FFE Alliance.
