Can we change how paint jobs are sold?

I understand the need to regulate paint so we don't see anything vulgar painted on ships, but the current way they are sold doesn't give us much options.

I'd like to see Frontier just sell the paint design, at a higher cost if need be, and allow us to choose our colors. There's some cool designs but I hate some of the color combos. Is this something anyone else would be interested in?

you mean selling the design as a template but otherwise letting us choosing our own colors to fill the template.

Correct. I'd like to have the full color wheel available. I'd like finish options as well, like gloss and matte. They could even charge for special finishes like pearlescent and metallic, maybe more.

I like this idea and would back it if offered, even if the "templates" were a higher price!

MWO did that sort of system. Though you had to buy individual colours too to unlock them in your pallette.

It worked by using red green and blue on the skin template and selecting the three colours which would replace the RGB channels.
Limits to 3 changeable colours, but that's more variation than used in most current skins anyway.

It was a pretty good system and should make the same money since colour unlocks are sold too so you end up purchasing 5 different shades of red over time to tweak it just right.
