I like to call selfie sticks Narcisticks.. but yes the external view debate begins again but with a new slant.

A remote camera that flies around your ship inspecting damage and allowing us to get a better view of our surroundings. Let it fly like a ship launched fighter but be 10x faster and easier to use than the debug camera.

If that were implemented all the people wanting external views will be happy.

1)It would take a module slot, cost money
2)It would be something fun for explorers to take to make it easier to catalog our journey.
3)It also could be used for missions to take pictures of stellar bodies for credits in the future.
4)It could effect minor hull repairs?

Sounds pretty easy to do if you ask me!

dont mind me, just going to settle in until the 'no' crew arrives and explains how it would give an advantage, be against the fact that you are the ship, be the wrong kind of leaves on the line, etc.

I think its a great idea, I think it was a great idea when it was suggested pre-launch and every time it's been suggested since, good luck :)

You won't be flying your ship when this is active... you'd be stationary.. so there is no advantage.

My hopes is that maybe when they do ship launched fighters they'll have more than just "fighters".

1) Fighters
2) Exploration probes with a unique interface to accumulate data for your ship... designed to be launched to a target to do the scanning for you. Example - you could launch all 4 of your probes to fly to 4 moons to do the DSS for you instead of you needing to do that manually.
3) Repair drones
4) Eventually "bombers" which are essentially one shot uber ships designed to be controlled to a target to collide with an object with a big boom.. smart bomb so to speak.

I think you should be moving in whatever way you were before you activated the thingy, its still no advantage, its a huge disadvantage, but you obviously have not met the 'no' crew, they are very good at their job, I'm sure they'l be along in a moment.

I need a camera /explorer called how you want drone for reasons. I wont even bother with listing them, I just want a flying camera.

Blimey mate .. You must be really fun at xmas ...

There are people who have a difference of opinion, we have the debug camera, which could be made into a better tool with a bit of work. That is all thats required, we don't need 'selfie' limpets, thats just replicating the work Frontier have already done.

Despite i be a big fan of external view mode, i think the missions in bared bones after a year of the game release should be the priority. After that NPCs persistents in every Place(space or planet surface).

I'll say no on the basis the only teenage girls are legally allowed to take selfies. Everyone else look like a (colloquial term for male sexual organ)
A camera to take pictures of my awesome Black Python... great idea, just keep the word 'selfie' out of it :)

Yeah but it really is what it is... sometimes you just like to look at yourself.. especially if you have a nice ship. But something that friggen simple is beyond difficult to accomplish because of a few pvp whiners.

I doubt they were 'pvp' anything, except maybe canon fodder, no pvp'er would gimp themselves by trying to use something designed to take pictures and movies

hahah hilarious I'll have to remember that one..

Wonder if they actually did make a cam droid for us if they'd be creative enough to give it a clever naming convention like that :)
