Engineers Can we have a marketplace to buy the abandoned upgrades for CR?

Maybe this has been asked before but I notice a lot of time that the effects aren't as expected and you abandon the upgrade and run it again, maybe these unwanted upgrades could go into a pool that could be bought with credits instead of grinding for the endless materials searching, I want to play and enjoy the game.

I don't expect super powerful level 5 upgrades, just be nice to get some basic upgrades on my ship without spending the rest of my life looking for some rare commodity. I'm also having to sell the cargo earned from missions as you just end up getting chain interdicted if you hang onto it. Maybe storage for these would be a useful feature too.

Anyway, just trying to think of ways that things can be implemented that are realistic instead of straight up pay to win :)

Of course the best upgrades for those that grind the grind but something basic for us who don't have 100 hours a week to play would keep us on some kind of scale, especially if they give the AI upgrades again.

Ever thought about the fact that it might be both, cheaper and more meaningful to have a market for the materials instead?...

Which btw was made already short after 2.1 came out.

I thought these materials were only available through missions and mining?

If I'm not understating the procedure correctly forgive me, if I can already just go and buy the materials needed then sure, this is no issue!

level 1 upgrades only require 1 piece of common materials. Spend an hour on a planet surface and you will be able to upgrade several different modules.

Exactly, which is why the suggestion to have a market for these came as soon as 2.1 came out.
And guess what? We still are no step closer to getting that :D

But getting a market for materials makes way more sense than a market for thrown away upgrades, which is what I was trying to point out.

Yeah I have quite a few basic materials in the hold, I think I filled the old 200 and added more since. I have put some grade 1 and 2 upgrades on my Clipper, I'm going to take the Conda over to Farseer and drop my exploration data, I'm currently level 3 access so might be able to do something with what I have.

It's a shame I couldn't store all the bits and bobs I'd picked up from missions as I'm sure a lot would have come in handy by now.

Managed to find my old thread about it, damn that thing collected a lot of dust. Guess this is not even remotely as wanted as one could think https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/256876-Material-Trading-Posts

Thanks for that, I'll have a read :)
