People have been having problems with the graphics since 3.3 dropped.
The post-processing effects are simply not to some people's taste and they're causing some people real problems.
Personally, I'm finding that if I set the gamma & HUD brightness to suit dark areas it becomes excessively bright in bright areas and, conversely, if I set those things so they're acceptable for bright areas they are overly dark in dark areas.
There is no way to achieve an acceptable compromise.
Anything that works in one set of circumstances needs to be changes for other circumstances.
Constantly adjusting the gamma & HUD brightness to suit the environment is NOT an acceptable solution.
I don't mean to be melodramatic but I have to be honest.
This has already caused me to stop playing ED.
There's 2 reasons for this.
1) The current graphics cause eye-strain and/or headaches for me.
2) With no prospect of an improvement in future, there's little incentive to persevere with the game in the present.
I'm not asking for the graphical changes to be rolled back.
I'm not asking for a selection of different graphical settings to be made available.
Ideally, if the effect that's responsible for these issues can be identified, I'd like an option to toggle it on and off.
I don't say this lightly but THE MOST IMPORTANT THING that needs to happen as soon as possible is for FDev to make some kind of public statement acknowledging the issue and specifying what they should be able to do about it.
Right now, I've already stopped playing ED as a result of these issues and I don't see that changing unless I hear something from FDev clarifying the situation.
Even if they've got no intention of fixing the problem, it's be nice if FDev make that clear, so people like me know where we stand.
