hi to the devs / commanders

can we have a ship named after the vulcan bomber please?, as i type this the one remaining air worthy vulcan is on its farewell fly by run, what a shame such an iconic piece of aviation history because it has become to expensive to keep flying.
it would be a shame to lose this fearsome beasts name to a static sentry at some airbase so lets have a try to get it into elite somewhere

what do you think commanders ?

I think we should have one, and call it "Vulcan Bomber". ;)

It could be a specific-role ship, carry large destructive payloads, and capable of high-altitude bombing of high-profile targets (as per Elite 2: Frontier).

It would be a fantastic gesture on the part of FD to even just add XH558 as part of the naming of one of the new ships coming later this year, its been an icon to many people and I suspect almost everyone in FD is aware of it and its final year in flight

Hmm, so let's delete the Eagle, quite a few been on the wrong end of an F15E... PC handwringers BAH!

It's a great name, and would be a fitting tribute to a uniquie aircraft. Gets my vote!

lets not debate the death and destruction of war as we play a game for which killing others gets us cash so we can get better weapons to kill them faster ad infinitum

As was I, it would be a fitting tribute to an aircraft and a time when we were up there with the best in the world. I'd also suggest Lightning and Buccaneer too.

And who would that be?
But AFAIK no enemy were injured or killed the only time they have been used in anger.

A couple of years ago one flew over where I was working, escorted by 3 (I think) Spitfires.
A magnificent machine.

Vulcans messed up the runway at Port Stanley, but other than that it's never seen any action. Not even the Valiant or Victor can be charged with war crimes either.

hey you know what? with the coming of Horizons, there's be ground based vehicles. Who's to say that at some point after that we can't also deploy air vehicles (in atmosphere planes) from our ships?
Then we could have a classic Vulcan Bomber :)
