Can we have AX point defense?

The current iteration of the point defense system is ineffective against thargoids. Would it be possible to have an AX variant that is only effective against thargoids? Perhaps one that can chip away at the swarm over time?

Verily. Point Defense is the correct type of weapon to attack a swarm-type enemy. (along with flak)
