CQC Can we make decent money in CQC?

Title says it all. Let's keep this adult like my friends. I"m a veteran player who does a little trading, exploring, combat and mining and would like to at least make semi respectable money for the main game in CQC.

Can I make decent money for the main game in CQC? Meaning, comparable to an hour of trading in a type 7 or RES zones etc. I'm not at the super high end ships yet.

You get the point fellas. Talk to me please : )

If money rewards doubles with each prestige rank then very much yes. I made 150K getting to level 33 of rank 1 (or zero - not sure how they count it). Now if i'm at prestige rank 10 that would be 153Mil Cerdits

As long as they allow people to rank up, byt just sitting through a match and not participating., Im afraid this system could be abused.

If I understand it correctly - match payout is defined by frag count and by your placing and by who won. So people just hanging in there would have to spend years doing it to get to 5 million credits mark
That Helpless - to - Elite progression doesn't matter. Only prestige ranks that you can get at reasonable time only by fighting

People can use a script that puts them into a match over and over...without even being at their keyboard.

Like I said..as long as points are given to afk players...this system can be abused....ive seen it in other games.

I'm not sure if they base income on rank alone. I'm at level 30, have fought in each one and pushing towards a 2 k/d ratio. Given active participation, I've made about 83k credits. From the stats page, it's been over 17 hours of play. Now, if I just sit there, I'll get participation points, but the XP payout is so low (maybe 200 XP), that it'd take four times as long to get up to level 30.

Wondering if the credit payout is also based on the XP gained? Or, do you get the same amount of credits whether you fight or not?

As far as overall payout, even exploring pays more. Three neutron star scans, and I've passed my whole total in CQC. Total time for three neutron star scans - about four minutes (of course, you have to fly out 10k ly to the neutron fields) :)

Has anyone confirmed that the credit payouts are doubled with each prestige level? If so, that may be something to shoot for if you like pvp. My problem right now is that the matchmaker seems to be spot-on with matching, and I don't get a match for an hour, since comparable levels aren't in queue. Quagmired at level 30...

Short answer: no.

Even mining or exploring gives waaaay more credits / hour than CQC. Which is perfectly o.k.

I'm at around 900,000Cr now, and about to reach prestige 3. It's rising about 300,000Cr per prestige level. I haven't noticed an increase, except that at Rank 50, it did (used to) sharply rise.

Holy cow! They diffidently need to buff the rewards, you can make well over 83k in like 30 seconds in a HAZRES, and it took you 17 hours of gameplay to hit that milestone. Cash per kill seems like it should be multiplied like 50 times over and then some. Minus ranking up what do you get a kill like 100 credits? I played I think 2 rounds after the latest patch, pulled about a 3-1 but lost both matches and only leveled up 2 or 3 times and earned I think 1200 or so credits for the 8-10 minutes I played which is still absolutely nothing. I can run a smuggling mission with zero risk of a fine for upwards of 250k in under 5, that is if I can find one. CQC as a way of earning credits just seems like a massive waste of time compared to literally everything else in the game as of right now.

Not saying that they shouldn't tweak things, but there's absolutely no reason that all activities should earn credits at the same rate - for a start, CQC is totally risk & consequence free, whereas 'real combat' can be expensive and should be rewarded more.

I don't think you should make decent money in CQC, there is absolutely zero risk; you can't actually lose anything.

Even in-game, the CQC combat is referred to as 'virtual'. See this article (https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/16-MAY-3301). Games are maybe a big business in this universe also. The consequence is the time put into them, whereas 'real combat' could be more profitable and expedient using the free Sidewinder.
