Can we please be able to remove Horizons?

In previous version I've deleted my 'other alpha/beta' manually, no problems doing so.
I guess you can delete this folder:
Code:
\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64
(only the last folder there, not all of it) and then leave 'elite-dangerous-odyssey-64' be.
When I've deleted mine, in previous cleanups, it gave me the option to install them again if I wanted.

Having Horizons mode available to extricate a commander that is stuck on foot somewhere may be useful. There was a number of ways that happened in the alpha, and not all might be fixed (or new ways may appear).

You don't need to manually delete folders usually for live versions of the game. I can't check right now because I'm installing Oddyssey, but normally you can just select the version of the game in the launcher that you want to uninstall (just like you would when launching to play, but don't click Play), and then go to "Options" -> "Uninstall Game" in the launcher.

No need to manually delete folders usually (unless it's an alpha/beta that no longer pops up in the launcher, but that's not the case here as far as I know).

This doesn't work with Steam. Unless I've missed something. And no options to uninstall the alpha either. Not in Steam, the launcher (that starts from Steam) or Windows uninstaller.

I've deleted alpha folder (/public server alpha/ (or something of that nature)) , it was 45 gigs or so. Not going to need that for sure.

I'm using Steam myself, and even though I installed Elite Dangerous via Steam, I just performed the Odyssey update outside of Steam via the launcher (EDLaunch.exe).

Steam still tried to install the Odyssey DLC for a while, but after I disabled the Odyssey DLC in Steam it stopped trying to download Odyssey and I could still start it from my launcher.

There is no real difference between Steam and non-Steam here I believe, any method will install the game in the Products folder.
The alpha/beta files you need to remove manually after the alpha/beta disappears from the list (from the Products folder in your Steam game folder or wherever you installed the game without Steam).

As long as the alpha/beta still shows up in the list, the uninstall option should work.

You can get a new ssd (240Gb - Crucial BX 500) for under £30 from Amazon.
(That's a SATA connection)
That's big enough for the Horizons and Odyssey data - and will really improve response times!

Thanks dude, but at the moment things are rough. Dratted virus.

Bit tired so I'm not really following you here. Personally I had no problem installing it. It updated automatically. But I, as I wrote, don't have any options to uninstall certain parts of the game; Horizon, Odyssey or Alpha.
