Can we please have HARD mode

maybe add another mode besides solo group and open

make it hard mode

where dying costs nothing but getting a trade across in an anarchy system means u will probably die 10 times trying
where shooting a clean player/npc in a high security system means almost certain death by police hands chasing u across multiple systems

something like this pls

and before people get in: this being a separate mode means nobody forces you to play it, only if u want to

Yes please. Disconnects mean you ship explodes, and all compatible with open and solo saves, so that players can choose to join.

This would be actually a good reason to have better income. Make it as hard as it gets, brutal, maybe even remove the insurance, but increase income dramatically too. And keep the saves compatible with the normal modes.

There is another form of hard mode available already though: You die --> Clear save

Now that's a bit more my liking of hard mode :D

That I think would have some merit.

"Dying costs nothing" would reduce the entire thing to a protracted slog . I'm going to get there eventually, so I'll zerg it.

i dont need an increase in income
i just want an increase in achievement
(i dont know if u were being sarcastic, if so maybe u can look how hard it is to get this across without being trolled, laughed at or insulted. it is rather telling)

thats not hardmode its called ironman mode and if u up the difficulty of the ai it would be ridiculous so in effect it would do the opposite: make the game (AI) easier not harder

They don't have to change the AI, you would just have to be a bit more careful about what activities you wish to do for your one life, a bit like in real life.

But more on to the original topic, while I don't think there should be a separate "hard mode", what I do think should happen is that certain areas of space should not be safe. Not necessarily anarchy systems per se, as anarchy systems only mean they don't have a ruling government and not that they are hard core or whatever word you wish to use. But just like the fact that some cities are more dangerous than some, some neighborhoods more likely to get you hurt if you look at someone the wrong way, there should be areas where if you fly through that area of space, don't expect to come out without fighting, and the same way, there should be areas that you could go totally defenseless, and the only chance of injury is a traffic accident (which already happen in game, YAY)

If an anarchy system is surrounded by safe, high security federal, imperial or whatever systems, they should normally not be all to unsafe, but if you go into a federal system that's surrounded by pirate factions on all sides, that should be a terrifying place to go.

So, to put an end to my ramble: there should be a greater variety in how dangerous the galaxy can be depending on where you are and who's around but it shouldn't be a separate mode.

If the game removes insurance in that mode and you want save compatibles than yeah, it should increase income too, based on the extra pve challenge.

the problem is u will force this on everyone and they might not like it, some people enjoy a quiet peaceful existence and i respect that
i just want to have a brutally violent one
the problem is with this cost of dying u cant really afford to die so more than 1or 2 tries on a difficult system and u are broke

so 2 reasons to get a separate mode

Well, I'm paranoid so I try to keep enough loose money to be able to pay for my insurance about 10 times no matter where I go.

And technically you would not be forcing this on everyone, if you want to have an easy going life, stay in the core because the fringe/ frontier whatever you want to call it is where the real monsters hide.

i feel where u are going but the problem is twofold
how can u prevent people from exploiting the 2 modes (fly in solo to station relog to hard mode and cash in hard)
and secondly the players in other modes would feel nerfed

so for me i could do without the extra income as long as the game gets a lot harder and insurance/rebuy goes

ok technically u are right still people would feel this way i think
and on the rebuy even if u have 10times rebuy if the game is really hard and a trade means u die 2 times trying it it would be hard to make a profit with how the costs currently are
i think the difficulty and the rebuy costs are directly related (and im not even mentioning cargo loss)
