Can we start a major faction war?

I'm wondering something.
What if players tried to start a war with the federation against the Empire or Alliance?
Would there be any way in game to encourage this? I want to have the federation take over Lave. Is this something a coalition of pilots could accomplish?

You currently cannot affect the universe in any meaningfull way unless some dev stepping in and doing some kind of update.

There was a time when the Alliance was completely shut out of 78 Ursae Majoris. At the time, there was some speculation that this was caused by a concerted effort by Federation players... there was also speculation that this was a bug. I'm not sure which proved to be correct, but it is now back to being a balanced system last I checked.
